THE VINEYARDS
THERA BLOCK
The Thera Block of Assyrtiko is located in 25 miles northeast of Lodi in the village of Clements and farmed by our family. We took a small block of established vines and top grafted this amazing Cycladic grape to it in 2021. We also farm another small block of own-rooted Assytiko grapes at another site.

STAMPEDE VINEYARD
Planted in the 1920’s, Stampede Vineyard is farmed by our family. It is located 25 miles northeast of Lodi in the village of Clements where the valley gives way to the rolling foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. It sits adjacent to the Clements Buckaroos Rodeo Grounds where the country's largest amateur rodeo, The Clements Stampede, takes place each Fall. The vines were planted in a diamond pattern, not a square, which allows soil tillage in multiple (more than 2) directions to eliminate competitive weeds while dry farming. It also provides more soil area per vine for root exploration. The vineyard is a Zinfandel field blend featuring about ten total varieties including Mission, Grenache, Alicante Bouschet, and Tokay.

sprague family VINEYARD
With a focus on the Lodi Rules and sustainability, this unique family farmed vineyard rests in the Clements Hills AVA of Lodi. The 400,000 year old soils are classified as heavy red, rocky loam, and receive more rain than the surrounding, flatter areas of Lodi. The 3,200 vines are cooled by the Delta breeze, and include an early harvested Cinsaut which yields high acid and low tannins.

Mule Plane Vineyard
Planted on its own roots in the 1920's in Lodi's sandy soils, this historic 5ac vineyard has been cared for by the Shinn family since its planting. It earned its name as the land was originally leveled by mule & plow.
