The Thera Block of Assyrtiko is located in 25 miles northeast of Lodi in the village of Clements. Assyrtiko's birthplace is the Mediterranean island jewel of Santorini, officially called Thera. The grape is the current face of Greek wine and for good reason - it's spectacular, intense and stands out in a crowd. There is very little of the grape planted in the new world. As sons of Greek immigrants we are especially proud to be amongst the first to grow & produce this wine in California. We believe there is no better white grape suited to the Mediterranean climate here in California, and especially Lodi, than Assyrtiko. We whole cluster pressed the grapes & fermented the juice in neutral french oak barrels using native yeast. It was bottled after 7 months of aging. It is bursting with aromas & intense flavors of citrus, stone fruit & minerality wrapped around a juicy, medium weight palate.
